About Caroline

I have always been interested in how the mind and body work together and studying psychology at university was where this passion was ignited.

Soon after getting married, I had 3 children in the space of 20 months and I spent the next 18 years focusing my time and energy on the children and my husband. As the children became more independent I knew I wanted to find a way of helping people become better versions of themselves - both mentally and physically.

I completed a foundation counselling course and a bereavement counselling course, both of which have proved invaluable in my work today. I then found my true passion in health and wellness coaching. It encompasses everything I love - it looks at how the mind and body work together to create the whole person we are. I find it incredible how small changes, when practiced regularly and when sustained, can lead to such amazing transformation.

I spent many years suffering from an eating disorder and therefore abusing my body. It makes me so sad to look back at all those years I wasted being so obsessed with maintaining an unhealthy weight and being so focused on starving myself. Not only did I cause so much damage to my body, but I missed out on so much of life. The eating disorder was who I was. I was terrified of who I would be without it.

It may sound strange, but I’m actually thankful I went through that eating disorder as it’s made me who I am today. I know that the mind is extremely powerful and it can convince us to behave in ways that are detrimental to our wellbeing. I believe having suffered for such a long time has made me a better coach and it has helped me to be more understanding of people’s struggles and the battles they’re facing.

I had to do a lot of work on myself to get to the place I’m at today. I worked on making myself a priority - something I used to think was an optional extra, but I now know to be absolutely essential in order to look after those around us. I also worked on how I viewed my body, which after years of living with an eating disorder, was false and warped. My body image was at rock bottom as I gained weight, yet I have come to a place where I can celebrate what amazing things my body can do and I now live my life based on far more than a number on the scales (which incidentally I threw out many years ago). I have learned how to nourish my body and to treat it with the love and kindness it deserves after all those years of abuse.
